NUANSA is a cultural production group based in the National University of Singapore. Through contemporary musical theatre, we attempt to showcase the beauty and diversity of Indonesian cultures. We consistently endeavor to bring the audience through an immersive journey by ensuring the cultural authenticity and artistic integrity of our shows and events. Since our inception in 2008, we have grown from strength to strength: from a small independent Indonesian performance group to one of the biggest student productions in Singapore, featuring a large and diverse community from different nationalities.
PD NUANSA 2018
"In my humble opinion, NUANSA is the probably the best way to experience what it means being an Indonesian in NUS. It's very different from other PINUS community such as ORI or MKP. If the former serves as a bonding and introduction platform for PINUSians and the latter serves as platform to give back to society; for me NUANSA is a celebration of Indonesian culture, Indonesian people, and Indonesian spirit. Through my experience in NUANSA, I was able to work with many amazing people and go trough a journey with many laughters, hardships, and tears in order to contribute to something bigger than myself. It was and will probably be one of the most memorable experience in my 4 years in NUS

NUANSA is a life-changing experience. It is easily be one of the MUST join CCA in NUS. NUANSA is where I find most of my close friends, it is place where people from different background really melt together inside one pot, for one purpose, to create a NUANSA production. (Eric Santoso)

NUANSA is an Indonesian word for nuances. It's such an apt word as Indonesia has more than 1300 ethnic groups and 650 native languages, each with its own culture and traditions. NUANSA's chief aim has always been to showcase these cultures on stage to our audience. All these are brought to you by a group of people, from different cultures and native languages themselves, who share their passion & heart for the Indonesian cultures. Do join us in witnessing yet another magic and wonder in the making at NUANSA'19!
PD NUANSA 2018
Being chosen as the producer of NUANSA 2018: Tasasek, when I was a freshman, was surely scary and exciting at the same time. A lot of expectations put so much burden on my shoulders, and challenges did not stop coming throughout the process. However, despite all these walls that I needed to overcome, I could gladly say I did not have any regret joining NUANSA. In fact, I felt grateful because I can take the lead of 100 brilliant Indonesian students in NUS, and I did not only gain knowledge about Indonesian culture and how a musical works, but also friendship, family, and love. NUANSA has taught me how to be a real person, how to act in a team and how to make quick and justifiable decisions. NUANSA has taught me people are amazing in their own ways and they can do anything we can imagine as long as we have the courage and energy to do so. All in all, I would say NUANSA has been one of the best decisions in my life and it helps me shape myself as a leader, friend, and most importantly, a person.
NUANSA is breathtaking, whisking you through stories of hardship, heartbreak, passion, and perseverance all on one stage. While these stories change, one centrality remains: NUANSA is a celebration of Indonesian culture, and a production I hope everyone has the chance to experience.
I've watched 'Nuansa 2018 - Tasasek: The Courage to Choose' last year, and I'm blown by the quality of the performance. I can see the hard work they have dedicated to give such performance. All the sets, costume, musical arrangement, and choreography are original; Giving out a performance that manages to capture the essence of one the best early modern Indonesian literature 'Salah Asuhan'. I've watched the trailer for Nuansa this year and I'm really looking forward to it!
